The past month has shown the entire nation of the United States of America some of the worst morals, responses to viewpoints, and violent rhetoric that the world can offer. Charlie Kirk's assassination on September 10th shook the entire planet. It made Christian conservatives more impassioned than ever to stand up for their faith and morals, while it has made the left even more vitriolic than ever before.
Instead of apologizing and toning their language down, they have become even more divisive in the face of the most significant assassination since Martin Luther King Jr., and one that was committed by their side of the political spectrum.
In a very short time, Americans in some states will have the opportunity to demonstrate their motivation at the ballot box, especially in two key states, New Jersey and Virginia, which are already representative of the country's shift away from violent leftism.
In New Jersey, Jack Ciatarelli has run one of the best gubernatorial campaigns in recent memory in his second attempt in four years. Back in 2021, the former member of the New Jersey House of Representatives came within three points of defeating incumbent Democratic Governor Phil Murphy. Now, he is extremely close to defeating far-leftist Congresswoman Mikie Sherrill in the 2025 November election.
One of the reasons for this, it seems, is that Jack is concentrating on building coalitions around independents, Republicans, and even Democrats on populist issues such as the economy, infrastructure, law enforcement, and, most importantly, shrinking crime within the state, which has been rampant. Democrats nationally and within the state of New Jersey are disenchanted with the party's orthodoxy on these issues, and Jack has leveraged that discontent to garner endorsements from several key Democratic figures within the state who align more with his common-sense conservatism than Sherrill's far-left ideology.
Mayor Everett E. Garnto Jr. of Garfield County, former Democratic Assemblyman and Mayor of Roselle Jamel Holley, Jacob Walthour Jr., former Democratic Newark City Councilman Oscar James II, former Mayor of West New York Sal Vega, Hudson County Sheriff Frank Schillari, and Branchville Mayor Anthony Frato have all been local current or former Democrats that have come out to support Ciatarrelli in his bid for Governor after their state's Democratic Party has refused to address issues such as affordability, crime, and immigration. On pure policy grounds, Ciatarrelli has built a coalition based on common sense and bridge-building in opposition to the divisive rhetoric his opponent and her party have fostered throughout the country.
New Jersey has the opportunity to do something significant and transform a Democratic stronghold state into a populist, working-class, and conservative-run bastion that the entire country can model its governance after. The leftist mantras of violence, tribalism, and divisiveness are what Democrats in New Jersey have built their base around, and similar yet stronger motivators are being used in the state of Virginia.
In Virginia, Congresswoman Abigail Spanberger and Jay Jones have led the Democratic Party campaigns in their bids for statewide office. Spanberger is running for Governor against Republican Lt. Governor Winsome Sears, while Jones is running against incumbent Attorney General Jason Miyares.
The polls in the race have varied, but an error by Jay Jones in the midst of this race may not only have changed the circumstances for him and Rep. Spanberger in Virginia and for Ciatarrelli in New Jersey, but also for Democrats throughout the country in 2026. In a leaked text exchange with Republican delegate from Virginia Carrie Coyner, Jones described extremely vile rhetoric directed at House Speaker Todd Gilbert and his family.
Jones stated in a hypothetical fantasy, "Three people, two bullets. Gilbert, Hitler, and Pol Pot … Gilbert gets two bullets to the head." In reference to Gilbert's family, Jones stated that the Speaker and his wife were "breeding little fascists" and that the only way that policy change could come about was if those like Gilbert were able to feel the "pain themselves, such as that felt by parents when their children die."
Not only did Jones wish harm upon his fellow government colleague, but death upon his children and Gilbert himself in vile hypothetical situations that would force Jones' purported policy change. He wished death on him more than he would upon two of history's worst purported authoritarians, and hoped Gilbert could feel the pain of his children passing.
In the wake of Charlie Kirk's assassination, it seems as if Democrats have only gotten worse. Not only have we seen blatant examples of leftists embracing Kirk's martyrdom as a celebration, but we have now seen Democratic candidates like Jones actively rooting for his adversaries and their families' deaths for the sake of political victories.
It is time for our nation to annihilate the Democrats' chance at power. For far too long, we have treated them nicely as they have imprisoned peaceful protestors, shot President Trump while indicting him with nonsense, assassinated Charlie Kirk, and now are wishing death upon Republican lawmakers.
Conservative voters in New Jersey and Virginia have the first chance to rebuke violent leftist politics after our nation has suffered a great evil.
We have witnessed a revival at Charlie Kirk's memorial service that has united our country in the pursuit of the common good. Now, conservatives need to root out leftism in our state governments. By electing Jack Ciattarelli as Governor and Republicans statewide in New Jersey, and by electing Lt. Governor Winsome Sears as Governor, re-electing Jason Miyares as Attorney General, and voting for Republicans statewide in Virginia, the voters in these two states can help conservatives take our nation back from the grip of leftist violent evil.
