“Tommy, we have absolutely decimated your speakers list for your march on Saturday,” Salih wrote in a May 12 post on X. “Please be aware that Muslims got this done, especially @5Pillarsuk which got the bandwagon rolling. It was my pleasure.”
The comments came shortly after UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer announced that his government would prevent foreign speakers from entering Britain ahead of the “Unite the Kingdom” demonstration, a Tommy Robinson-led event expected to bring over 100,000 people to central London on Saturday.
“That is why this Labour Government will block far-right agitators from travelling to Britain,” Starmer said Monday. “We will not allow people to come to the UK, threaten our communities and spread hate on our streets.”
Officials have reportedly already denied entry to seven individuals expected to attend or speak at the event.
Following the announcement, Salih celebrated the move in another post, writing: “Absolutely wonderful to see the far right meltdown over the banning of the foreign Islamophobes and racists from Britain. Great stuff.”
In the lead-up to the rally, Salih also urged a heavy police presence at the event, citing fears of violence. “Police must be out in force on Saturday for Tommy Robinson’s anti Muslim hate march,” he posted. “Thousands of violent racists and Islamophobes will no doubt be there and will be looking for trouble in a city with a huge Muslim and ethnic minority population.”
Salih added that he had heard “criminal gangs may attempt to attack racists as they are not happy with London being handed over to white supremacists for the day.”
He wrote that he hoped “no violence occurs” but warned that the situation “could kick off in a major way” without significant policing resources.
In separate posts, Salih said critics urging him to avoid antagonizing the far right misunderstand the threat. “The far right have already decided upon their agenda to destroy Islam in the West,” he wrote. “As for the 25% of Brits who are Islamophobes and racists, they need to be exposed, demonised and defeated. Simple as.”
Salih also mocked Robinson supporters directly, calling the activist “a serial criminal” and describing those attending the march as people who “really need to do something to change your outlook.”
