On Ash Wednesday's edition of Human Events Daily, Jack Posobiec opened the program with an update on escalating talk of possible US military action against Iran, citing reporting and insider commentary. Posobiec mentioned an Axios report and White House sources suggesting the administration is moving closer to a direct strike.

Posobiec said: “Axios is coming out, huge report saying that Trump is very close to ordering a military strike on Iran. A Trump advisor says the boss is losing patience. I think there's a 90 percent chance we’ll see military action against Iran in the coming weeks.”

He described how Washington sources have characterized what might unfold: “This would be a joint US-Israel campaign lasting weeks, quote, more like a war and, quote, completely different than the Venezuela scenario, quote, more significant and closer than the American public believes.”

Posobiec then shifted to strategic bases being discussed in that context, particularly the British-controlled island of Diego Garcia in the Indian Ocean — a key location for long-range US aircraft operations near the Middle East.

Explaining the geography and relevance, he said: “Diego Garcia lies in the Indian Ocean ... so it's within range of long-range military strikes for what? B-2 bombers, for long-range bombing runs into the Middle East. … However, the UK, which controls Diego Garcia, is currently looking at giving it away.”

Posobiec read from what he described as President Trump’s statement on the issue, criticizing UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer: “Prime Minister Starmer is losing control of this important island by claims of entities never known of before. In our opinion, they are fictitious in nature. Should Iran decide not to make a deal, it may be necessary for the United States to use Diego Garcia and the airfield located in Fairford in order to eradicate a potential attack by a highly unstable and dangerous regime, an attack that would potentially be made on the UK as well as other friendly countries.”

He continued the Trump quote, urging the UK not to proceed with a lease change: “Prime Minister Starmer should not lose control for any reason of Diego Garcia by entering a tenuous, at best, hundred-year lease. This land should be not taken away from the UK.… We will always be ready, willing and able to fight for the UK, but they have to remain strong … Do not give away Diego Garcia.”
