JACK POSOBIEC: Finally, DHS is targeting anti-ICE networks—It's time someone took action

"We need to disrupt these networks. We need to shut down the networks of anarchists operating in this country. We need to hit them where it hurts."

On Human Events Daily, Jack Posobiec opened the show by discussing the “huge news” out of the Department of Homeland Security targeting anonymous social media accounts critical of ICE. "Well, folks, huge news out of the Department of Homeland Security. This is something that we've been pushing for for quite some time, and now it appears that it's actually coming to pass. What does it mean? And they're all losing their minds."

Posobiec reported that the DHS is pursuing platforms including Discord, Reddit, Google, and Meta: "The Department of Homeland Security is finally going after Discord, Reddit, and these other sites where anti-ICE anarchists, anarchists, terrorists, and communists are using [these platforms] to plot their attacks on our federal agents."

"So now there have been hundreds of subpoenas, we're told, it's all over the media. Hundreds of subpoenas, Google, Meta, Discord, Reddit, all of these sites. Administrative subpoenas for the Department of Homeland Security, according to government officials, speaking on condition of anonymity."

"The department asked the companies for identifying details of the accounts that do not have a real person's name attached and have criticized ICE or pointed to the location of ICE agents. New York Times is reporting they saw two subpoenas that were set to Meta over the last six months."

Posobiec framed the effort as a necessary measure to disrupt activist networks: "Folks, this is what we're pushing for. We need to disrupt these networks. We need to shut down the networks of anarchists operating in this country. We need to hit them where it hurts. Take out their communications. That's what this is about."

He drew parallels with restrictions on Trump supporters during the previous administration: "we were banned off of all of social media. Go back to the Biden regime. During the regime era in this country, we had to create our own social media apps. We had to go to places like Telegram. We had to create Gettr and Truth Social and all of these places to be able to congregate, just to be able to share our opinions and our support for Donald Trump."

Posobiec highlighted what he called activist control of major platforms: "These guys, they've had control of Reddit. They have control of Wikipedia. They control Google. They control Meta. They control many of these places, or at least they have had control of them for so long. They operate in the open. This is a key strategic weakness for them."

"Their command and control, this is their C2, their command and control operations are done primarily through basic social media pathways. And as such, those companies can be subpoenaed because if there is criminal activity taking place, and of course, you know, all the media is, oh, the civil liberties and oh my gosh, what about the human rights and oh no, it's so bad. These are crimes. You can't use social media to plan crimes. It's really that simple."

He compared current reactions to past cases, including the 2016 Doug Mackey indictment: "And I don't seem to remember any of these people being upset when Doug Mackey got arrested, indicted, and convicted for posting a meme in 2016. Nobody had a problem with that. He got doxed and everybody who was in the group chat that was in with him got doxed. They went in for him."

"I don't know anyone who was in any of those group chats. I don't know what you're talking about, any group chats. I don't recall, do not recall, officer, but we've already had the Rubicon crossed by the left. You guys threw a guy in jail, or you tried to throw a guy in jail until his conviction was thrown out in appeals court, for posting a meme."

Posobiec concluded by urging action against activist networks: "And now you're going to sit there and cry, sucking your thumb and crying like little babies because the actual criminals are about to face justice. I love it. Crack down on all of the Antifa networks."
