Federal immigration enforcement activity continued late into the night Tuesday in Minneapolis following riots and protests sparked by the fatal shooting of Renee Good, as US Border Patrol aircraft were observed departing the Minneapolis–Saint Paul International Airport carrying detainees out of the state.

Video captured by Human Events shows a Border Patrol convoy departing the airport after loading a plane with individuals detained during recent enforcement operations. The removals come amid heightened federal activity under Operation Metro Surge, which has focused on apprehending individuals with criminal convictions and alleged fraud ties.

Additional footage from the airport shows Border Patrol aircraft engines warming along the perimeter fence line as agents prepared for departure. Federal officials have not released a passenger manifest but have confirmed that detainees were transported out of Minnesota as part of ongoing immigration enforcement efforts.

Another video shows a Border Patrol Boeing 737 lifting off from Minneapolis, described by federal sources as carrying illegal criminals and individuals tied to large-scale fraud investigations. The departures occurred as protests intensified in the city’s downtown core.

Earlier in the evening, Human Events footage from George Floyd Plaza documented the impact of Minneapolis city ordinances that limit cooperation between local police and federal immigration authorities. Under these policies, city officers are barred from honoring ICE detainers, providing operational resources, or allowing ICE to stage operations on city property. Despite those restrictions, Operation Metro Surge continued, with hundreds arrested, including individuals with serious criminal records.

As night fell, rioters swarmed outside the Graduate Hotel in downtown Minneapolis, where local authorities were believed to be staying. Video shows crowds taunting law enforcement as city policies continued to restrict coordination between Minneapolis police and federal agents.

Subsequent footage shows a riot squad forming inside the lobby of the Graduate Hotel in preparation for crowd dispersal. Officers were later seen holding position as demonstrators continued to chant and confront police.

Another video shows the riot squad fully assembled in the hotel lobby as tensions escalated outside, with officers preparing for deployment amid growing unrest.

Later, rioters were seen attempting to redirect the crowd toward the Macnamara area after calls for dispersal. Chants targeting ICE continued as demonstrators ignored instructions to leave and used strobe lights in officers’ faces.

Approaching midnight, Human Events footage shows rioters continuing to taunt police outside the Graduate Hotel while law enforcement remained largely stationary. Questions were raised by onlookers as to why local police had not moved to disperse the crowd.

The riot squad was eventually deployed outside and was seen pushing the rioters back from the hotel building.
