“Today is all about independent media,” Posobiec said at the opening of the summit. “It’s all about disrupting the narrative. It’s about getting the truth out.”
Posobiec emphasized that the gathering brought together voices “from across the spectrum and, in fact, all across the world,” including journalists who have reported from “the front lines” in Ukraine. He described the event as a “meeting of the minds” dedicated to finding new ways to share unfiltered information in the face of censorship and establishment pressure.
“This is the force multiplier,” Posobiec said. “This is how you can be a truth aggregator — how you can actually get the facts, spread it out through social media, using independent networks like Real America’s Voice, and then going and telling that story.”
Speakers at the summit included James O’Keefe, Lara Logan, and Dutch commentator Eva Vlaardingerbroek, among others. Posobiec said the event highlighted “the interplay between information, truth, and policy,” noting that much of the past decade has been defined by what he called “the lies of the mainstream media” and “the lies from the intelligence community.”
Referencing the recent revelation of the FBI’s so-called Operation Arctic Frost, Posobiec said, “We were living through a version of the American Stasi,” adding that the federal targeting of conservative groups and figures like Turning Point USA and Mike Lindell showed why independent media must exist.
Later in the day, Flynn joined Posobiec on stage, explaining that the summit was not just about current events but about “understanding the future of alternative media.”
“We’ve seen the decline of corporate media, the decline of advertising for sure, and the rise of advertising and the rise of alternative media, because people know — well, that’s where people are going,” Flynn said.
He added that global leaders are increasingly uneasy about that shift, referencing recent comments from Barack Obama and discussions at Stanford University about controlling the “information domain.”
Flynn also previewed legislative efforts designed to combat censorship both in the US and abroad, saying members of Congress were expected to address the summit later in the day. “There’s censorship going on all over the world,” Flynn warned. “And we’ve got to fight that.”
The retired general, who runs a nonprofit combating child trafficking, said that as alternative platforms grow, society must still set standards for what’s shown online. “People are going to have to judge what is actually displayed on social media and alternative media — and that’s part of the discussion,” he said.
