Duffy, the daughter of US Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy, said the majority of Americans care about the atrocities Jeffrey Epstein, a convicted pedophile and accused sex trafficker, had committed before he allegedly took his own life in a jail cell while awaiting trial in Manhattan, New York City.
Attorney General Pam Bondi and FBI Director Kash Patel recently announced that the Department of Justice's investigation into the Epstein Files would be closed, sparking immense backlash from President Trump's "MAGA" base. The president further infuriated his supporters by backing the DOJ's decision and claiming that the Epstein Files were a "Democrat hoax." As a result of the backlash, President Trump on Thursday ordered Bondi to "produce any and all pertinent Grand Jury testimony" in the Epstein case.
"I am suspect of anyone who is downplaying Jeffrey Epstein, who is pretending like the American people don't care about him," said Duffy. "And it's not just the abuse of young girls, which he, of course, engaged in. It's also the massive financial crimes. Nobody knows where his money came from. He was like a college dropout, was a high school teacher for a little bit... Nobody understands how this man made his money. Nobody really understands a lot about him. And clearly, he was a criminal who got away with a lot. It's very suspect for anyone who would say, 'I don't care about this or the American people don't care about this, because obviously we do."
Posobiec, senior editor of Human Events, agreed and told Duffy that the Trump administration's decision to reverse course was the result of conservatives going on "offense" and demanding that the president give what he had promised to the people. Duffy agreed, saying that the Epstein Files are a bipartisan issue. "We want to actually get to the bottom of who was Jeffrey Epstein," she said.
"There really hasn't been any authentic investigation into this, and people across generations realize it," Duffy added.
