“The scenes you’ve seen there, the scenes erupting across social media are far worse than anything that we could have imagined,” Posobiec began. “Though we could have predicted this and in fact, many of us did predict this.”
He pointed to Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard as one of the earliest voices warning of the current bloodshed: “The current Director of National Intelligence, Tulsi Gabbard, directed this to mass pushback. She suffered so much pushback, for years, for warning that this would take place. That the slaughter of Christians and minority groups throughout Syria would take place if a regime change operation was put out there. She was told to be quiet, she was told to stop talking, she was told that she was an apologist.”
“She was told she was a toadie by Berry Weis on Joe Rogan, she was called every name in the book. The one thing they will never admit is that Tulsi Gabbard was right. The one word they will never be able to call her is ‘inaccurate,’ because she predicted precisely this outcome, and so many others did as well.”
“Why? Why did she predict this? Because it’s very simple; there is no such thing as a moderate jihadi,” Posobiec continued. “There is no such thing as a moderate head-chopper. The current government of Syria, this inherit president ... this guy was Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi’s deputy in Syria. This guy was on the top of the food chain there when it came to the terrorists, when it came to the head-choppers. He was part of Al-Qaeda in Iraq, he moved to run operations in Syria… These image that you’re now seeing, these harrowing images that you can’t take your eyes away because they’re so horrific.""
“I want you to understand something boys and girls, your taxpayer dollars paid for this. This was an operation, Brennan, Clapper, Obama, Newland, Hillary Clinton, they all supported this, Operation Timber Sycamore. The largest covert operation, and certainly the most expensive in American history.”
Syria’s Christian and Alawite minority populations are currently being subject to killings and torture. The ruling Islamist group, Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS), aligned with the Syrian government, has reportedlt filmed themselves brutalizing and slaughtering Alawite and Christian communities.
The violence, which erupted late last week, has forced thousands—including Christians and Alawites—to flee to nearby mountains for safety.
Since the outbreak of hostilities, more than 1,000 people have been killed, including 745 from Syria’s Christian minority and Alawite sect, 125 from Syria's government forces, and 148 pro-Assad militants, according to Newsweek.
The conflict has become the deadliest Syria has seen since longtime President Bashar al-Assad was removed from power three months ago. The Daily Mail reported that civilians have been dragged from their homes and executed at point-blank range, while others were brutally beaten with branches and sticks.
The United States has condemned the recent massacres. Secretary of State Marco Rubio issued a statement on Sunday, saying, "The United States condemns the radical Islamist terrorists, including foreign jihadis, that murdered people in western Syria in recent days. The United States stands with Syria's religious and ethnic minorities, including its Christian, Druze, Alawite, and Kurdish communities, and offers its condolences to the victims and their families. Syria's interim authorities must hold the perpetrators of these massacres against Syria's minority communities accountable."
