"Massive news from President Trump. The hammer has been dropped across Europe with a three-pronged hit, directed from the White House. But also, with some hits being directed elsewhere," Posobiec said.
One major development was the arrival of Scott Bessent in Kyiv for talks with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. "His work with Zelensky was directed towards an economic partnership contingent on the end of the war," Posobiec explained, noting that rare earth minerals and other Ukrainian resources could be leveraged to support the US economy and potentially repay some of the billions in taxpayer dollars previously sent to Ukraine under Joe Biden.
Meanwhile, Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth delivered a powerful speech in Brussels, making it clear that post-war Ukraine would not be admitted into NATO. "The war will end, but we will not return to the status quo where Ukraine would be pushed into NATO—that, in fact, the door would be closed for Ukraine into NATO. There would not be a return to the 2014 borders," Posobiec said. Instead, he emphasized that a "new peace, a lasting peace, and an understanding peace" would take shape in Europe.
The impact of these moves has already been felt across Brussels, setting the stage for the upcoming Munich Security Conference. "All of this leading towards the Munich Security Conference this weekend, where Zelensky and JD Vance will have their meeting—their first-ever sit-down," Posobiec noted.
"This is tremendous, ladies and gentlemen. We’re seeing real change, we’re seeing an actual work from the president—huge action from President Trump directing his envoys across Europe to end the Ukrainian war," he concluded.
