Twitter’s co-founder Jack Dorsey has left the social media platform’s board of directors.

The departure comes as Tesla’s CEO Elon Musk continues his attempt to purchase the company.

As reported by Just the News, Twitter initially announced Dorsey would leave the company last November when his term expired at the company’s 2022 shareholder meeting, which took place on Wednesday.

Dorsey’s departure means that all of the platform’s founders have cut official ties.

Last month, Dorsey appeared to endorse Elon Musk buying Twitter for $44 billion, indicating that he would be the right person to take the company in a sensible direction.

"Elon's goal of creating a platform that is 'maximally trusted and broadly inclusive' is the right one," Dorsey wrote.
