The U.S. is set to send more military aid to Ukraine, according to lawmakers.
Emergency funds will soon be approved, placing “$10 billion into both defense equipment for Ukraine, but also humanitarian assistance to get civilians out,” Sen. Chris Murphy said on Fox News Sunday.
The approval will come after members of Congress spoke to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zalenskyy.
“If I were President Zalenskyy, I would be asking for a no-fly zone,” Murphy said. “The problem is, there is no such thing as a no-fly zone over Ukraine.”
Enforcing something of that sort, according to Sen. Marco Rubio, would mean World War III.
“I think there are a lot of things we can do to help Ukraine protect itself,” Rubio said on ABC News. But, he added, “I think people need to understand what a no-fly zone means.”
