New York Gov. Kathy Hochul announced that children across the state must continue to wear masks past the February 21st expiration date.

As previously reported by Human Events News, Delaware Gov. John Carney and New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy announced plans to lift school mask mandates over the next two months.

In a tweet Monday, Carney said that the mask requirement for K-12 public and private schools and child care facilities will end on March 31.

Gov. Murphy also said on Sunday that he would officially announce the end of the New Jersey mandate on Monday, and the new policy will take effect the second week of March.

Hochul spoke on a call with school superintendents who confirmed that the mask mandate will  be extended in schools through the scheduled winter break, which begins February 21st, BizPacReview reports.

She will reportedly meet again with school officials after that time to “re-evaluate” the mandate and whether or not to lift it.

The updated news comes amid reports that Hochul will announce on Wednesday the end of the indoor mask mandate in the state.
