President Donald Trump has said that his administration is seeking to have a "fundamental change" in the communist regime of Cuba during his speech to the United Nations General Assembly. He said that Secretary of State Marco Rubio.
"My administration is also seeking a fundamental change in the situation in Cuba, where the communist regime is under great pressure—the biggest pressure they've ever been under—it's an absolutely failed state," Trump said.
"It's failing like never before, and it will fall. Marco Rubio is ... deep into negotiations with Cuba. Let's see what happens. Will not allow a haven for foreign adversaries to threaten America on our own doorstep, right at our doorstep. The Cuban regime has also spent decades coordinating with the left-wing radicals and communist networks here in the United States."
During Trump's speech at the UN, he also addressed the cartel violence that has been taking place in Latin America and the US' efforts to take out like by designating them as terrorists.
"Like ISIS, they should be killed, exiled, or detained as enemy combatants without the possibility of release, which is what we're doing ... the United States has carried out dozens of strikes on cartel drug boats, destroying 97 percent of the drugs coming into the ocean and sea," the president said.
He pointed specifically to Mexico as the "epicenter" of cartel violence in the Latin American countries.
"Unfortunately, it's unacceptable for the United States to share a 2,000-mile border with a territory controlled by enemy cartels. So Mexico must reclaim control of its soil from the enemies of humanity," he said, calling on Mexico to take action.
Trump took aim at Iran during the speech, saying that they will face annihilation if they do not come to deal after the midterm elections this November. He also declared that artificial intelligence will now be called "super intelligence" in the US, and that on every government document, AI will not be referred to as "SI."
