Human Events contributor Evita Duffy-Alfonso criticized Wisconsin Democratic state Rep. Francesca Hong during an appearance on Human Events Daily with Jack Posobiec, arguing that the Democratic candidate for governor’s views represent a broader push to replace American culture with communist ideology.
“Well, Jack, Francesca Hong is clinically insane. This is a clinically insane woman,” Duffy said. “The tweets about- the tweets from her keep getting worse,” she added. Duffy referenced posts in which Hong criticized Thanksgiving, Halloween, and Christmas, before discussing an incident involving Hong at a Wisconsin Culver’s restaurant.
“She goes into a Culver's and she goes on this anti-white racist screed, says she's worried that her son's gonna be around all these white people,” Duffy said. “This woman is a radical communist. She hates Wisconsinites. She hates Americans, as all DSA members do,” Duffy said.
She also argued that Democratic leaders are concerned about candidates like Hong gaining influence because they believe such views are unpopular with voters. “She scares them because they know what she's pushing is not palatable to regular, normal Americans,” Duffy said.
Posobiec then discussed Hong’s previous statements and questioned whether her opposition to certain cultural traditions was consistent with communist movements historically.
“But the point is, should we really be surprised, knowing what we know about communists, that a communist would hate the cultural holidays of a culture that they were trying to subvert?” Posobiec said. “Isn't this actually what communists always do?” he added.
Duffy responded by saying attacks on traditional culture are part of what she described as a communist strategy. “Oh, it is. I mean, this is textbook, right?” Duffy said.
“They want to subvert the mores, the culture, the heritage of that place, and replace it with collectivism, replace it with godless communism,” she continued.
“This is the playbook, Jack,” Duffy said.
However, Duffy also acknowledged that Hong has focused on issues that many Americans are concerned about, including rising costs in healthcare, housing, education, and childcare. “The most unfortunate part is, Francesca Hong is actually talking about some things that matter to Americans, right? The price of healthcare, the price of housing, the price of education, the price of childcare,” Duffy said. “These things are all radically expensive in this country,” she added.
Duffy argued that Republicans should address those affordability concerns while offering different solutions. “Republicans need to talk about, acknowledge, I think, that these sectors of our economy are radically too expensive, talk about how we can actually fix it,” Duffy said.
“Instead of denying that Francesca Hong is right, things are too expensive, she just has a terrible idea of fixing it,” she concluded.
