On Thursday, the US military launched its 13th consecutive night of strikes on Iran, with the American military deploying B-1 bombers in the region to strike the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps. The escalated strikes come as Houthi terrorists launched strikes on Saudi tankers in the Red Sea.

It is the first time that the US has used B-1 bombers since the conflict with Iran resumed after failed negotiations, per Axios. B-1 bombers can carry two dozen 2,000 lbs bombs and can fly faster than the speed of sound at lower altitudes.

The 13th night of attacks comes as Houthi terrorists launched strikes at two Saudi tankers in the Red Sea, which may escalate the war with Iran in the region.

CENTCOM said that the barrage of strikes was meant to "hold Iran accountable." "U.S. forces started another night of strikes against Iranian military targets at 6:45 p.m. ET today. This is the 13th consecutive night of strikes aimed to hold Iran accountable and diminish threats from the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps to commercial shipping," CENTCOM said in a statement on Thursday evening.

President Donald Trump has also said that he is weighing a “massive attack” on Iran. "I am considering a massive attack. Bigger than ever before. I am close to making a decision. We are all set for it,” Trump said.

After the Houthis attacked on Thursday, the president said in a post to Truth Social, "A year ago the United States of America attacked, very powerfully, the Houthis, for their interference with commerce and trade, by shooting at ships. Since that time, and during our conflict with Iran, they have acted very responsibly. Unfortunately, now they are starting up again, shooting at two Saudi Arabian ships last night. Please let this TRUTH serve to represent that if they do this again, the U.S. will hold Iran responsible, in that the Houthis are a Surrogate and/or Proxy of Iran, and major military punishment will be inflicted upon Iran and, of course, the Houthis, themselves, who I am very disappointed with in that they have, until now, acted very professionally and smart. Thank you for your attention to this matter."

As the conflict has escalated, so have oil prices. The barrel price of Bren crude oil, the international standard on pricing, increased by 6 percent to around $100 a barrel. The price is the highest it has been since the memorandum of understanding was proposed in June but has since unraveled.
