British women’s rights activist Kellie-Jay Keen, also known as Posie Parker, revealed that a Muslim extremist threatened to cut her throat during a gathering at London’s Speaker’s Corner.
The incident occurred while Keen was attending the weekly public gathering at Speaker’s Corner in Hyde Park, a place that has long been associated with free speech. Keen is the founder of the Let Women Speak movement and is known for campaigning on women’s rights issues and opposing radical gender identity policies.
Video from the incident showed a man approach Keen and tell her, “I’ll cut your throat.” Keen reported the threat to nearby police officers, to which the man approached and complained about Keen to the police as well.
“This lady right here is calling my prophet Mohammad… all sorts of words,” he told an officer. “Illegal!”
The man continued arguing that Keen had insulted his religious beliefs. Keen then told officers that he had threatened to cut her throat and said she wanted him prosecuted over the threat.
In a series of posts on X, Let Women Speak and Keen detailed the incident, saying that police initially sided with the man who had threatened her. Keen later posted that police had arrested the man in question.
“It’s pretty embarrassing that most people who defend Islam don’t seem to understand that since 700AD it hasn’t changed,” she wrote in a post X. “The throat cutting, stabbing, murdering and raping is the same as it ever was.”
