TEXAS AG KEN PAXTON to JACK POSOBIEC: John Cornyn has not accomplished anything in 4 terms—his time in office is up

"John Cornyn's running for a fifth term, which no one's ever done in Texas history, not Sam Houston, not LBJ, not John Tower, not Phil Graham."

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton appeared on Human Events Daily for an interview with host Jack Posobiec, where both focused heavily on the state’s ongoing Republican Senate runoff. Posobiec opened the segment by urging Texas voters to turn out.

"Folks, there's a lot going on the ground, but if you're within the sound of my voice today, in the great state of Texas, then you need to go out and send a message from the heart of Texas, all the way to the dark heart of the swamp, that it is time for the DC establishment, the do-nothing establishment, to get out of Dodge,” Posobiec said.

“We are draining the swamp, and we are doing so, as I said, a year and a half ago, down in Texas, by declaring open season on that invasive species, the Texas RINO.”

Posobiec introduced Paxton as he joined the program, asking for updates from the ground as the runoff neared its conclusion. Paxton described a months-long campaign effort across Texas and sharply criticized Cornyn’s record in office, arguing voters could not identify meaningful achievements from his tenure.

"So, Jack, I've been doing this for 14 months. I've been meeting with Texans from groups of one to thousands, and I've asked them one question. John Cornyn's running for a fifth term, which no one's ever done in Texas history, not Sam Houston, not LBJ, not John Tower, not Phil Graham. He's been in office since I was in college. It's 42 years, and I'm 63 now, and I've asked them one question. Can you name one good accomplishment to the state of Texas that John Cornyn has accomplished, not just in his 24 years, I'll give him the whole 42, and no one's ever given me an answer to that question,” Paxton said.

Posobiec agreed with Paxton’s criticisms, saying Texas voters were seeking more aggressive action on border and federal policy issues. “That’s exactly what the Texas voters have been looking, sitting there saying, we want someone who supports the president's agenda. We want someone who's willing to put their money where their mouth is,” Posobiec said.

Paxton slammed Cornyn’s past positions on immigration, firearms policy, and federal legislation, arguing the senator had aligned with Democrats on key issues. “There’s no doubt that John Cornyn has helped, even helped Joe Biden. Joe Biden thanked him for restricting Second Amendment rights in a way that few have done. He thanked him for helping him bring Afghan refugees to the state of Texas without vetting them,” Paxton said.

He further accused Cornyn of shifting positions during election cycles and failing to deliver legislative commitments. “But yet, under pressure, I said, if you deliver on that, one good thing, John, just deliver on one good thing… But what happened? He went on vacation for two weeks. He went back for a week, went back on vacation, never got it done, never mentioned again. Just typical of John, never delivers,” Paxton said.
