The US military has taken out all 11 of Iran's ships in the Gulf of Oman, according to Central Command. The military objective was achieved on Monday after the US and other forces started targeting the Iranian regime and its leaders over the weekend.

"Two days ago, the Iranian regime had 11 ships in the Gulf of Oman, today they have ZERO. The Iranian regime has harassed and attacked international shipping in the Gulf of Oman for decades. Those days are over. Freedom of maritime navigation has underpinned American and global economic prosperity for more than 80 years. U.S. forces will continue to defend it," CENTCOM posted to X.

On Sunday, President Donald Trump revealed that the US military had sunk nine Iranian ships and was also in the process of destroying the rest of Iran's naval forces. "I have just been informed that we have destroyed and sunk 9 Iranian Naval Ships, some of them relatively large and important. We are going after the rest. They will soon be floating at the bottom of the sea, also! In a different attack, we largely destroyed their Naval Headquarters. Other than that, their Navy is doing very well!" Trump wrote on Truth Social.

The Gulf of Oman, as well as the Strait of Hormuz, is a critical maritime trade route, where a large portion of oil and other materials are transported. Meanwhile, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps claimed that their forces hit the aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln with ballistic missiles, something CENTCOM called a "lie" on Sunday.

"The Lincoln was not hit. The missiles launched didn’t even come close. The Lincoln continues to launch aircraft in support of CENTCOM’s relentless campaign to defend the American people by eliminating threats from the Iranian regime," CENTCOM said.
