Just weeks after Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk’s assassination in September, Russian President Vladimir Putin condemned his killing, calling it a "disgusting atrocity."

In the resurfaced clip from early October, Putin was heard telling attendees of the 22nd Annual Meeting of the Valdai Discussion Club in Sochi, "You know, this is a disgusting atrocity, especially since it unfolded in real time and we could all see the way it happened. Indeed, what a disgusting and horrifying thing to see."

"First and foremost, of course, I offer my condolences to the family of Mr. Charlie Kirk and the people who knew him. We sympathize and feel for you," Putin continued, saying that Kirk "sacrificed his life over there, in the United States, all while fighting" for "traditional values."

Putin was among many world leaders who condemned Kirk’s killing in the wake of the September 10 shooting at Utah Valley University. Tyler Robinson has been arrested and charged with several counts for Kirk's killing, including aggravated murder, felony use of a firearm, and obstruction of justice.

Among those who expressed outrage over the killing was Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, who called Kirk’s killing “an atrocious murder” and “a deep wound for democracy and for those who believe in freedom.” Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu wrote that Kirk had been "murdered for speaking truth and defending freedom," and said "We lost an incredible human being. His boundless pride in America and his valiant belief in free speech will leave a lasting impact. Rest in peace, Charlie Kirk."

Other foreign leaders who weighed in include British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, Argentine President Javier Milei, New Zealand Foreign Affairs Minister Winston Peters, Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney, and Former British Prime Minister Boris Johnson, among others.
