France had opened up their nation to refugees fleeing Gaza, but has now closed it after one of those Palestinians, a student, has been accused of "reposting alleged antisemitic content on her social media." French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot said that all evacuations of Palestinians to France would come to a stop.

The student had been vetted by both Israeli and French authorities prior to being evacuated to Europe, but the "antisemitic and unacceptable" posts were not revealed during that process. That student, said Barrot, "must leave the country. She does not have a place in France." It's unclear if the student would be sent back to Gaza or would be placed elsewhere. Many nations refuse to take Palestinian refugees.

The student has also been expelled from her university in Lille, in the north of the country. The content, said the interior minister, was nothing more than "Hamas propaganda," reports CNN.

That school, Sciences Po Lille, said in a post that the school fights against all forms of racism, antisemitism, and discrimination, as well as against any type of call to hatred, against any population whatsoever."

Hundreds of Palestinians have gone from Gaza to France since the October 7 massacre carried out by the Palestinian terror group Hamas against Israel. Now those will not go forward.

"France does not have to welcome international students who advocate for terrorism, crimes against humanity, and antisemitism. Whether they come from Gaza or elsewhere, international students holding or relaying such statements have no place in our country," said Minister of Higher Education and Research Philippe Baptiste.

President Emmanuel Macron has said that France would recognize the Palestinian state as a nation at the UN meeting in September. "True to its historic commitment to a just and lasting peace in the Middle East, I have decided that France will recognize the State of Palestine," he said.

"I will make the solemn announcement at the United Nations General Assembly next September. The urgency today is to end the war in Gaza and to provide aid to the civilian population. Peace is possible," Macron added.
