A vehicle exploded in a shopping mall's underground parking lot in Moscow, leaving "black smoke billowing among the district's skyscrapers on the banks of the Moskva River," The Daily Mail reports. There are not yet indications of injuries or the cause of the explosion.

Three "loud explosions" were heard as well, reportedly due to "fuel cylinders that exploded under 'strong pressure.'" Investigations are underway. Authorities "aren't ruling out sabotage or terrorism." Video was shared from Moscow showing flames, black smoke, and an explosion.

This comes as Moscow and Kyiv have been planning to engage in peace talks, brokered by the United States. Officials from the US and Europe were planning to meet in London on Tuesday to try to hash out a deal that would put an end to the war that began between the two nations when Russia invaded Ukraine in February 2022.

European diplomats backed out of the talks after US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said he was not planning to attend. Presidential envoy Steve Witkoff still plans to attend.

"We’ve issued a very explicit proposal to both the Russians and the Ukrainians, and it’s time for them to either say yes or for the United States to walk away from this process," Vice President JD Vance said while on a state trip to India to sort out a trade deal. "We’re going to see if the Europeans, the Russians and the Ukrainians are ultimately able to get this thing over the finish line."

Moscow has seen car bombings and attacks since Russian President Vladimir Putin's invasion of Ukraine. Putin has said that he would back a ceasefire that allows Russia to keep all the territory they have gained during the past three years of war.
