POSO & LIBBY EMMONS: Fox News is trying to ‘normalize’ Trump criminalization

"This was not a crowd that was pro-Trump. These men were vying for second place."

Jack Posobiec and Libby Emmons discussed the first Republican debate and the absence of conversation around the criminalization of Trump and his presidential team, on Human Events Live on Thursday.

Let's juxtapose this," Posobiec said. "It's like the hurricane is coming. These people are talking about Sunday brunch.” He asks, “Why was the weaponization of the regime against Trump not made a larger talking point last night?”

Emmons referenced the abysmal viewership numbers of the debate versus the Trump/Tucker Carlson interview as a potential pain point and reason for the lack of Trump-related questions from moderators.

She clarified, “…you had Martha MacCallum and Bret Baier asking questions about the potential weaponization of the of the Department of Justice against Trump… But it was just another question as part of this as part of this debate…there has been a distinct attempt to normalize the prosecution of Donald Trump who faces some 600 years in prison… I think that it's important for the American people to never forget that this has never happened before.”

“We have never seen a president prosecuted,” added Emmons.

Donald Trump, she said, spoke about the corruption of Fox News in his interview with Tucker Carlson. Trump did not attend the debate, foreseeing that the whole event would consist of cheap shots at the former president and would not be beneficial to anyone (in addition to him being so far ahead in the polls already).

“No one [else] has really earned a shot at the title,” Emmons added.

Emmons pointed out how Nikki Haley kept “using being female as part of her credentials" and Posobiec interjected that the constant reminders reminded him of the Barbie movie all over again.

Emmons added, “We're here based on the merits of these candidates.”

During part of the debate, viewers both saw and heard members of the audience “booing” when primary candidate Vivek Ramaswamay called climate change a hoax. Posobiec explained that it was in fact donors in the first two rows and in front of the microphones causing the commotion, a realization he had while live streaming the debate on Thoughtcrime with RNC member Tyler Bowyer.

“This was not a crowd that was pro-Trump," Emmons said. "These men were vying for second place… We all know your chick, Nikki, it's okay… I think Bovec really stole the show, and I am anxious to see how going forward these candidates deal with the fact that Trump is being prosecuted by… Joe Biden.”

Emmons drove home that “the arrest of Donald Trump in four states cannot be normalized… As soon as we start saying that It's okay for one person to prosecute their political enemies, weaponizing the Department of Justice, none of us [are] safe in this country.”
