The United Nations General Assembly on Wednesday passed a historic resolution condemning Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and demanding its immediate withdrawal.

While the resolution holds no legal authority, it serves as a symbol of global unity against Putin, Fox News reports

Only five of the 181 nations present for the vote opposed, while 35 nations abstained - including China, Cuba and Iran. 141 voted in favor.

Russia, Belarus, Eritrea, North Korea and Syria opposed the resolution.
