Human Events Daily host Jack Posobiec called out what he described as the behavior of “toxic feminists” attending the trial of Massachusetts mother Lindsay Clancy, singling out reporter and Teen Vogue contributor Brittany Romano, an apparent childhood friend of Clancy's, and accusing her of behaving inappropriately during the proceedings.
Posobiec said he understood why some people had questioned the continued coverage of Clancy's trial, given the allegations against her. He said, however, that his attention had shifted toward women in the courtroom who he said were “smiling, laughing, and giggling” as the trial continued. “I get that there's some people saying, hey, you know, what's going on with this Lindsay Clancy trial? Why are we, why are we still talking about this? She's obviously a heinous murderer. And I'm sympathetic to that. I completely agree with you.”
“But then I keep seeing the behavior of the crazy feminists who are in the courtroom now, smiling, laughing, and giggling. Not just one, there's three of them in there for the cameras. While all of this is going on.”
Posobiec then identified Romano, saying she had publicly posted videos and had worked for several major publications. He said Romano had written for Teen Vogue, Business Insider and USA Today. “She's a writer for Teen Vogue, a reporter, mind you. She's someone, the woman in green, her name is Brittany Romano. And she's posted all this publicly. So she's a, she's a member of the press. She's written for Business Insider. She's written for USA Today. And she's completely insane.”
Romano had posted multiple videos that were later deleted, but that the Human Events Daily team had preserved them. He said the outlet had promised to “name and shame” people he described as “toxic feminists” involved in the Clancy trial. “And she posted multiple videos last night, deleted them. But fortunately, the crack team here at Human Events Daily saved every single one,” Posobiec said. “And oh, yes, we promised that we would name and shame when it came to the toxic feminists in the Lindsay Clancy trial. And here we are delivering on exactly that.”
Posobiec then played a video that he said was not from the Clancy trial, but was recorded after Romano had attended proceedings involving Luigi Mangione. Posobiec said Romano had claimed in the video to have been communicating with Mangione.
“This video in particular, by the way, is not from the Lindsay Clancy trial,” Posobiec said. “This was her after the Luigi Mangione trial, where she says that not only has she been in communication, or excuse me, not only has she been going to the trial and attending these hearings, but she's been in communication with Mangione.”
“Now they're writing love letters back and forth with Luigi Mangione. Yes. And the situation is getting worse.”
In the video played by Posobiec, Romano responded to criticism she had received online. She said people who were not present in court should not make assumptions about what was taking place there.
“Yeah, so hello, my name is Brittany Romano, and everyone really seems to have an issue with me. And here's the thing that we need to straighten out. Last week, I walked back in with spinach in my teeth... If you're in that courtroom every single day, I would love to know what your thoughts are.”
“And here's the thing, like, I do date a lawyer. And every single thing that you've been saying has been screenshotted. So maybe look in on the repercussions of what you're saying," Romano can be heard on the video.
Posobiec responded that Human Events Daily had also saved her public posts and deleted videos. “Yeah, you're right. Everything has been screenshotted and saved. And we've screenshotted all of your stuff. And yes, we've caught you in 4K," Posobiec closed.
Vanity Fair has since cut ties with Romano.
