With a new year, comes new hope. Be it our personal lives or professional goals, there is always an air of expectancy for goodness.
But we have among us leaders and media houses that are interested more in giving us bad news. Climate change has been the media’s favorite avenue to instill fear of an impending doomsday among the masses.
To ensure a state of doom and gloom, the climate-obsessed media adopts few key journalistic principles that makes the world appear increasingly warmer and headed towards catastrophe. One of those tactics is to actively downplay extreme cold weather events or temperature anomalies that do not correspond to their warming theories.
Hype the Warm Events, Ignore the Cold Weather Events
When it heats up in the summer, the news media goes full monty on climate change and argue in favor of the dominant climate-crisis hypothesis. But the same media remain largely silent when record cold weather and snow events occur in prominent cities and countries across the globe.
For example, California had one of its snowiest Decembers in 2021, surpassing decades-old records. Yet, we did not see mainstream media address it in the same way they cover record heat events.
Globally, the mainstream media either ignored the historic colds or refused to question their favorite climate analysts and celebrity news anchors who make claims about winters becoming milder and the Arctic going ice-free.
A December Cold that Froze Santa’s Sleigh
It is likely that a majority of the news observers would have missed the following extreme cold weather events, and in the process, be kept in dark about their relevance to climate predictions.
All of Canada registered some of its coldest temperatures in December, breaking multiple records for temperature and snowfall. At negative 42.88°F, Edmonton’s international airport witnessed one of its all-time lows.
Likewise, parts of Asia witnessed record low temperatures. Multiple Chinese locations like Tuli River, Fuyuan, Wuying, Jiayan, Hulunbuir – recorded all-time low temperatures, well below negative 40°F.
South Korea’s capital Seoul recorded its coldest December temperature in 41 years. India’s capital New Delhi witnessed many all-time record lows for December, as the poor in streets lit fires to stay warm. This is the fourth consecutive year where the city’s 30 million residents are experiencing record cold days and nights.
December data indicate that the total snowfall in the Northern Hemisphere has been a few hundred gigatons higher than the 1982-2012 average. There is no way a dangerously warming world would host temperatures so low as to break 30-year average snowfall levels.
Cold Weather Events Expose Media Lies
Now, these cold weather events in no way disprove the natural and beneficial increase in global average temperatures. But what they do prove is the illegitimacy of climate alarmists’ predictions about the supposed climate crisis and rapidly warming world.
The mainstream media implores the world to prepare for warmth but seldom seeks to impart insights about the actual possibilities of extreme cold weather events or even a global cooling event.
This is because, the media houses have chosen to stick with their standard script about a warming world. Anything that challenges their dominant hypothesis is generally given less space, or even omitted from their prime-time coverage.
The mainstream media has been quite successful in creating this mass hysteria about a supposedly rapidly warming world. Ignoring and downplaying cold weather events is adding to the great climate misconception, especially among younger generations.
