On the one-year anniversary of the January 6th Capitol riot, Kamala Harris compared the event to the September 11th terrorist attacks and the attack on Pearl Harbor.

Harris and Joe Biden spoke Thursday in Statuary Hall at the Capitol, per the Daily Caller.

“Certain dates echo throughout history, including dates that instantly remind all who have lived through them where they were, and what they were doing when our democracy came under assault,” Harris said. “Dates that occupy not only a place on our calendars, but a place in our collective memory. December 7, 1941, September 11th, 2001 and January 6th, 2021.”

As previously reported by Human Events News, the Justice Department has charged over 700 people in connection with the incident, but refuses to answer questions regarding whether federal agents were involved.

At least 600 of the 700 charges were misdemeanors for entering or remaining on restricted Capitol grounds, offenses punishable by a maximum of one year in prison and a $100,000 fine. Other charges include illegal picketing and disorderly or disruptive conduct on Capitol grounds.

However, as the investigation has spanned across the last year, the Justice Department has yet to answer whether or not federal agents were involved.

It is critical to mention that one person - Ashli Babbitt - was shot and killed during the riot. No officers died that day, though Capitol Police Officer Brian Sicknick died the day after of natural causes after having two strokes. Two other officers committed suicide several days later and two more in July. Two Trump supporters died during the riot of natural causes after suffering from hypertensive atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease.

On the other hand, as a result of the 9/11 attacks, just under 3,000 people died and over 2,300 Americans were killed as a result of the attack on Pearl Harbor.
