The U.S. Marine Corps announced Thursday that 103 members had been discharged due to their refusal to get the COVID-19 vaccine.

Marine Corps spokesman Maj. Jim Stenger confirmed the dismissal in an email, claiming the “vaccine refusal” discharge code had been applied, the Daily Caller reports

Active-duty Marines had until November 28 to get vaccinated or risk being discharged. The deadline for reserve Marines was set for December 28.

In late October, the Marine Corps warned that anyone who “received and willfully disobeyed a lawful order” would be processed for separation.

The Marine Corps has approved 1,007 vaccine exemptions for medical or administrative reasons.

As of Thursday, 2,863 of 3,144 Marines who applied for religious exemptions had their request denied. In the past decade, the Marines don’t have a single known case of approving a religious exemption to vaccination.

As previously reported by Human Events News, the air force discharged 27 members for refusing to comply with the vaccine mandate.
