On Wednesday's episode of Human’s Making News: The Dissident’s Desk, Brent Hamachek and Hollywood producer turned conservative activist Bettina Viviano Langlais discuss her recent experience being attacked by cancel culture on social media.
Viviano tells her side of the story and clears the air over what took place leading up to the cancellation of a fundraising event that was set to be held at her Texas home in support of Herschel Walker’s Georgia Senate campaign.
If you aren’t familiar with the story, Senate candidate Herschel Walker's campaign team canceled the fundraiser with Viviano Langlais over a set of syringes arranged in a swastika featured in her Twitter profile picture. The symbol, which she removed shortly afterwards, is being used by some opponents of vaccine requirements.
“Despite the fact that the apparent intent behind the graphic was to condemn government vaccine mandates,” Walker’s campaign said, “the symbol used is very offensive and does not reflect the values of Herschel Walker or his campaign.”
Viviano received heaps of criticism on social media. Indeed, what she experienced has become all too common in today's cancel culture where not only are conservatives having their words and messages distorted, oftentimes their own political allies do not step forward in their defense.
Viviano has been a Hollywood producer and publicist for over 30 years. She also owns Accelerate Entertainment.
