Morgan Quitno Press recently published its 14th annual rankings of the safest and the most dangerous states in America for 2007. The rankings, according to Morgan Quitno’s report, are based on “rates for six crime categories - murder, rape, robbery, aggravated assault, burglary and motor vehicle theft,” which are then “plugged into a formula that measures how a state compares to the national average for a given crime category.” The whole 2007 report is available at the Morgan Quitno Press website, www.morganquitno.com.
