Rep. Jeff Flake (R.-Ariz.) continues to uncover earmarks right and left. This week he's shining light on a pork project contained in the Energy and Water appropriations bill (H.R. 2419) for fiscal year 2006. The project? - $160,000 for poultry litter composting in West Virginia.

"Maybe this is what Representative Jim Moran had in mind when he said that, if he becomes Appropriations Chairman, he'll earmark the @#$&% out of it," said Flake.

Earlier this month, Moran promised supporters that if the Democrats win the majority in the House of Representatives this November, he'd be sure to bring home the bacon.

The bill easily passed the House (399-17) on November 9, 2005 and then the Senate (84-4) on November 14, 2005. President Bush signed the bill into law on November 19, 2005.
