“There is zero deterrence now, both local and federal, and that's why Antifa's back in full force.”

On Monday’s episode of Human Events Daily, Jack Posobiec spoke with journalist Katie Daviscourt about political violence and her continued reporting in protest environments, referencing a previous Trump roundtable on the issue and the injuries she has sustained while covering demonstrations. Posobiec opened the segment by pointing back to the White House roundtable on political violence.

“Well, Katie, you and I were, of course, sitting right next to each other in President Trump’s roundtable on political violence, left-wing political violence, and you were there with a black eye from the last time that you had been assaulted in one of these situations,” Posobiec said, adding, “Now you have been hit again. Do you feel like the federal government is doing everything it needs to do about these groups?”

Daviscourt immediately pushed back on the idea that authorities are adequately responding. “Well, no, not at all,” she said. “I think that they shouldn't be able to mobilize in the first place,” before arguing that legal challenges and court action have weakened federal enforcement efforts, saying local and state actors are actively supporting protesters through litigation.

“I do understand,” Daviscourt said, continuing, “So the Trump administration, and the reason why I keep going out there is because the protesters and the local, the city and the state government keep going after the Trump admin on behalf of the protesters in the courts,” and she added that federal actions are frequently challenged and used in litigation.

“So they are actively helping the protesters sue the Trump admin for any time a federal officer uses munitions against them,” she said. “And it's a false rhetoric, and so the Trump admin would not, honestly, a lot of my footage gets used against these protesters for charges, and for the Trump admin, you know, in the Ninth Circuit Appeals Court, like, yeah, we do need the National Guard deployed, stuff like that.”

Daviscourt said she believes she has become a target due to her reporting, stating, “So that's why Antifa is so aggressively pursuing me,” before adding, “So I do understand that Trump admin has odds stacked against them when it comes to the courts, but this is life or death, Jack,” as she warned that political violence is escalating without sufficient deterrence.

“This left-wing political violence needs to be addressed, and I personally don't think that they're doing enough,” Daviscourt said, while referencing past enforcement activity and contrasting what she described as stronger federal presence in previous operations with the current environment. “When Trump did order the crackdown in September of last year, there were federal agents, like, on the roofs of the building, and I was pretty much safe to report because there was such a deterrence,” she said, continuing, “There is zero deterrence now, both local and federal, and that's why Antifa's back in full force.

She added that organized groups are becoming more active again, saying, “Antifa A team's coming back out, and they're just not being held accountable,” before concluding, “And I have more than enough done my part throughout the years. The federal government needs to come in and just start doing stuff.”
