Billary, Part II

Check out The Christian Science Monitor's opinion piece describing how Hillary's husband could circumvent the Constitution (again) and run on the 2008 Democratic presidential ticket. According to some lawyer and poli sci professor, Bill could just run as the party's vice-presidential candidate, despite the 12th Amendment's provision that "no person constitutionally ineligible to the office of president shall be eligible to that of vice president of the United States," and the 22nd Amendment, which prohibits individuals from being "elected to the office of the president more than twice." Although the language of these two amendments seem to clearly bar Bubba from running again, these two have a slightly different interpretation. Guess it depends what the definition of "president" is.

What's more, the column argues that Hillary should consider making her mate her running mate. We all know the Clintons' have long promised a "two-for-one, blue plate special" presidency, but this may be taking things a bit far. After all, The New York Times just reported how Bill and Hill are barely spending two weeks a month together, now they would have to live and work together? Not sure if either one wants that. How about if and when Hillary becomes president, she nominates Bill to be ambassador to Sweden? That way, the two will be the happiest they've ever been in their marriage.
