Treasury Secretary nominee Hank Paulson has a history of giving money to Democrats and liberal causes. According to the Center for Responsive Politics, these include former President Bill Clinton, presidential candidate Bill Bradley, Sen. Chuck Schumer (N.Y.) and the pro-abortion Emily's List.
In 1992, for example, Paulson contributed $1,000 to Bill Clinton's campaign against Bush's father. Paulson's wife, Wendy, meanwhile, has given $6,000 to Sen. Hillary Clinton and another $5,000 to her political action committee. The Paulsons have also given hundreds of thousands of dollars to the liberal League of Conservation Voters.
