In the current American Conservative, I discuss FDR's guest-worker program, and how it served as corporate welfare for Big Sugar. It's another example of Big Business turning to Big Government for help.

Bush's plan to "match willing foreign workers with willing U.S. employers" would like have the same effect of subverting the free market, giving the employer the power of government, and thus further introducing government into business - all while driving down wages. Read the article here
