Speaking on Human Events Daily, Posobiec opened by saying, “Folks, we need to talk about the Pacific Palisades firebug, the arsonist who was arrested for committing those fires,” and added, “This fire was committed by an arsonist.”
He went on to say, “His name is Jonathan Rindernecht, and he is accused of having started these fires,” before referencing allegations from federal prosecutors about the suspect’s state of mind before the incident.
Federal prosecutors allege Rindernecht “was upset over a past relationship with a former co-worker and angry about not having plans on New Year’s Eve prior to the fire,” Posobiec said. He also said reports described the suspect’s behavior while working as an Uber driver, stating, “Passengers of his claimed that he displayed erratic behavior that night, describing him as angry, driving recklessly, and ranting about his frustration with the world.”
Posobiec also linked it back to Luigi Mangione, the man accused of killing UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson. He said, “They said that he had an obsession with fire, but also an obsession with, and you're going to love this, an obsession with Luigi Mangione.”
He then cited alleged search activity, saying investigators found phrases such as “free Luigi Mangione,” “let's take down all the billionaires,” and “Reddit lets K-I-L-L all the billionaires.”
Posobiec also referenced what he said as a prior interview, saying the suspect was asked why someone might commit arson in the Palisades and responded it could be done, quote, “out of resentment of the rich enjoying their money as we're basically being enslaved by them.”
He continued, “He was obsessed with Mangione. He was driving around in his Uber, ranting about Mangione.”
“You will get MAGA or you will get Mangione,” and added, “The children of Mangione will be the assassins and the killers of the future.”
He also said, “These are the people driven by envy, by anger, by resentment,” and described the alleged motivation as, “a selfishness and an envy and an anger.”
“Think about how many families lost everything in this fire,” and called the case, in his words, evidence of “a left-wing terrorist” motive behind the incident.
