A press briefing with four Cabinet secretaries just got under way. President Bush’s team has set out to sell his competitive initiative, which he outlined last night in his State of the Union address.

I’ll have snippets as we progress. Here’s the official release (courtesy of the Department of Education):

U.S. Secretary of Education Margaret Spellings will join Energy Secretary Samuel Bodman, Commerce Secretary Carlos Gutierrez, Labor Secretary Elaine Chao and Dr. John Marburger, director of the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy, for a press briefing on President Bush’s State of the Union proposals on Wednesday, Feb. 1 at 10 a.m. at 450 Eisenhower Executive Office Building.
