Kudos to Senator Kent Conrad (D-ND) for choosing to side with mainstream Americans in supporting Judge Alito, rejecting the extreme positions of liberals in his party, like Ted Kennedy.
When Democrats do the right thing, we ought to call a spade a spade.
By supporting Judge Alito, Senator Conrad has proven he is at least more conservative than Senator Chafee (R-RI). Whatever other differences we have with him, Senator Conrad deserves our respect for doing the right thing for America.
I hope Senator Dorgan, also of North Dakota, will also see fit to stand with moderate Democrats, like Senator Conrad, in supporting Judge Alito
