Former House Majority Leader DeLay isn’t only facing a trial on a bogus campaign finance charge in Texas, he is also up against major political opposition back home.

Last week, attorney and former U.S. Commerce Department official Tom Campbell, a long-time Republican contributor, announced he will oppose the congressman for re-nomination in the March 7 primary. In the November general election, DeLay would face former Democratic Rep. Nick Lampson, and at least two independent candidates, including former Republican Rep. Steve Stockman, who represented one-third of DeLay’s 22nd District a decade ago.
