Sen. John Cornyn's (R.-Tex.) staff just reminded the Washington press corps about the National Organization for Women's opposition in 1990 to then-Supreme Court nominee David Souter.

Souter, of course, is today among the most liberal justices on the Supreme Court.

NOW acknowledged that fact 12 years later, when in 2002 it called Souter a justice "who can be counted on to vote for reproductive freedom and against most restrictions on abortion."

With the start of today's hearings for Samuel Alito, NOW is crying wolf again. This time it says: “Save Women’s Lives: Vote NO on Alito.”
