The following statement was issued by Eastman Kodak Co. in response to the Human Events article, "Corporate Foundations Bankroll Anti-Alito Coalition."

The December 15, 2005, article in Human Events Online (“Corporate Foundations Bankroll Anti-Alito Coalition”) mischaracterizes Kodak’s past involvement with People for the American Way.

In 2001, Kodak, along with the NAACP, and their partners the Ad Council and PFAW, launched a multi-organization effort to improve the educational performance of Black and Hispanic students.

Kodak donated $1.2 million to this effort to cover the costs of producing and airing a public service announcement aimed at enhancing parent involvement in public schools. PFAW served as the distributor of the funds to the Ad Council, which produced the commercials and handled the media buying.

All of the funds that Kodak donated were specific to this project and our final contribution was in 2004. We have no ongoing relationship with People for the American Way.
