Hillary’s White House ambitions are getting criticism from an unlikely source: actor George Clooney, one of Hollywood’s most outspoken liberals. Clooney opposes the war in Iraq and many of President Bush’s War on Terror policies and recently said he thought someone else should run for the Democratic nomination.

Clooney accused Sen. Clinton and other leading Democrats of failing to oppose Bush’s “rush” to war in Iraq, saying he was “frustrated and disappointed’’ that leaders such as Hillary had “backed themselves into a corner’’ over Iraq.

“The Democratic leadership was scared, and it’s too bad because it has come back to haunt them,’’ Clooney said. Instead of Hillary, whom he described as “the most polarizing figure in American politics,” Clooney wants Illinois Sen. Barack Obama to run for President in 2008.
