humanevents.com, the website for the 61-year-old weekly newspaper Human Events, is seeking a full-time News Producer.

The News Producer will assist with updates to the homepage throughout the day, monitoring breaking news and offering quick reaction. Candidates must be able to write snappy and creative headlines, exercise excellent news judgment, and work quickly in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

The ideal applicant will have experience in online media. The News Producer will be responsible for the Human Events Weekly Wrap-Up e-newsletter, which is delivered to more than 140,000 readers. Candidates should have a keen ability to market humanevents.com to readers in a way that will keep them coming back every day.

The News Producer reports to the Editor of humanevents.com and will work collaboratively with the editors of Human Events.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in journalism or related field
• Excellent writing, spelling and grammar, and familiarity with AP style
• Ability to meet deadlines
• Flexibility to respond to breaking news at night and on weekends
• Fluency in HTML and experience with Dreamweaver and photo editing software a plus
