Conservative Ellen Sauerbrey, nominated by President Bush to be assistant secretary of State for the bureau of population, refugees, and migration, may not get a vote in the Senate Foreign Relations Committee until January, committee spokesman Andy Fisher told Human Events.

Sauerbray, a former Maryland legislator, gubernatorial candidate and Bush state campaign chair, is under attack from Sen. Barbara Boxer (D.-Calif.), who is hoping to make the unjustifiable case that Saurbrey is a political crony with no experience to lead State’s refugee program. Sauerbray, meanwhile, will continue serving as U.S. envoy to the UN on women’s issues.
