News of the eight losing propositions in California spurred liberal California Sen. Dianne Feinstein to declare that she knows how to govern better than the people of the Golden State. It’s too bad Feinstein didn’t utter such an arrogant comment before yesterday’s vote. It might have prompted a revolt of the people.
“The election results should send a strong message that the voters are tired of having issues that should be solved by their elected representatives placed before them on the ballot. I hope Sacramento heeds that message.”
Recall that this is the second time in the past few months that Feinstein has declared her superiority to make decisions for others. It was during the confirmation hearings for John Roberts that Feinstein said that, being the sole woman on the Senate Judiciary Committee, it was her responsibility to represent the views of all women.
“As the only woman on this committee, I believe I have an additional role in evaluating nominees for the Supreme Court, and that is to see if the hard-earned autonomy of women is protected.”
You were wrong then, Senator, and you’re wrong now.
