With the Harriet Miers fiasco and the Scooter Libby indictment still in the public mind, and with whatever bounce will come from the nomination of Judge Samuel Alito to the Supreme Court yet to be realized, President Bush??¢â???¬â???¢s job approval rating sank to new lows in a series of new polls.

The ABC News/Washington Post polled pegged the President??¢â???¬â???¢s approval rating at 39%. The AP-Ipsos poll put it at 37%. And the CBS News poll put it at 35%. While a good fight with Senate Democrats resulting in Alito??¢â???¬â???¢s confirmation to the Supreme Court should help bring the President??¢â???¬â???¢s numbers back up, the White House would do well to ponder if its imminent plan to push the President??¢â???¬â???¢s guest worker/amnesty proposal won??¢â???¬â???¢t push the President??¢â???¬â???¢s numbers even lower.
