Thanks for providing us with that WND link, Elizabeth. I suppose I’m not really surprised that some people are abusing the $2,000 that my tax dollars paid for. But really, it’s a sad commentary on America when someone is spending $800 on a Louis Vuitton handbag. This should outrage every conservative (and hopefully a few liberals).

And speaking of outrage, how about the President’s remarks today? Either those kidney stones are messing with Karl Rove’s head or Bush has turned into a socialist. He’s playing right into the liberals’ hands.

Americans of every race and religion were touched by this storm; yet some of the greatest hardship fell upon citizens already facing lives of struggle - the elderly, the vulnerable, and the poor. And this poverty has roots in generations of segregation and discrimination that closed many doors of opportunity. As we clear away the debris of a hurricane, let us also clear away the legacy of inequality.
