-He told Roberts he was engaging in a "kabooki dance" by not answering questions to Biden's liking.
-He said senators were "rolling the dice" with Roberts because it was difficult to discern how he would rule on issues.
-Said Roberts' answers "sounded wonderful to the non-educated, non-lawyer public," but Roberts' answers weren't convincing him.
