THE IN-LAWS

RATING: PG-13 for suggestive humor, language, some drug references, and action violence
STARRING: Michael Douglas, Perry Perlmutar, Albert Brooks, Ryan Reynolds, Lindsay Sloane, Mike Beaver, and Candice Bergen
DIRECTOR: Andrew Fleming
PRODUCERS: Bill Gerber, Elie Samaha, Joel Simon, and Bill Todman, Jr.
EXECUTIVE PRODUCERS: Andrew Stevens, Trace Stanley and Oliver Hengst
WRITERS: Nat Mauldin and Ed Solomon
BASED ON THE SCREENPLAY BY: Andrew Bergman, author of Hollywood And Levine and The Big Kiss Off Of 1944
DISTRIBUTOR: Warner Bros.
GENRE: Comedy
INTENDED AUDIENCE: Teenagers and adults

SUMMARY: In The In-Laws, a mild-mannered, slightly neurotic foot doctor discovers that his new in-laws are international smugglers as he gets caught up in a wild adventure not of his choosing. This very funny, well-cast movie is marred by some homosexual humor and foul language.

The In-Laws has a lot of great laughs, but, regrettably, one of the main shticks of the story is where a homosexual Frenchman pursues the neurotic doctor, and the humor goes a bit too far. The movie also has some foul language and some allusions to drug and alcohol use and abuse. Overall, The In-Laws may do well at the box office as a mindlessly entertaining comedy for "date night."

CONTENT: Worldly outlook with Michael Douglas character escaping his pain by living for danger and excitement with some nods to God and the Jewish faith with references to thanking the Almighty, having a female rabbi officiate a ceremony, etc. as well as some nods to false religions with Buddhist priest also officiating wedding and reference to Candice Bergen’s character getting help from Indian guru; 15 obscenities and seven profanities; violence includes fist fights, slapping, woman pushed off speed boat, etc.; plenty of homosexual humor with a horrified Albert Brooks character being pursued by a homosexual French man.

THE MATRIX RELOADED

RATING: R
STARRING: Keanu Reeves, Carrie Anne-Moss, Laurence Fishburne, Hugo Weaving, Anthony Zerbe, Gloria Foster, Jada Pinkett Smith, Monica Bellucci, Harold Perrineau, and Lambert Wilson
DIRECTOR: Andy and Larry Wachowski
PRODUCER: Joel Silver
EXECUTIVE PRODUCERS: Grant Hill, Bruce Berman and Andy and Larry Wachowski
WRITERS: Andy and Larry Wachowski
DISTRIBUTOR: Warner Bros.
GENRE: Science Fiction Thriller/Martial Arts Thriller
INTENDED AUDIENCE: Teenagers and adults

SUMMARY: The Matrix Reloaded is a disappointing sequel, despite high production values, redemptive elements and some admittedly "wow" sequences. Neo and his friends try to destroy the mainframe computer enslaving mankind in a violent story that contains a gratuitous sex scene, nudity, foul language, and cryptic philosophical dialogue.

In The Matrix Reloaded, Neo, his girlfriend Trinity, and Captain Morpheus return to Zion, the last underground city. Zion is battling an evil group of computerized machines which have enslaved the rest of humanity, who are being used to generate the power needed by the machines to survive. All is not safe for Zion, however. The machines have sent 250,000 seeker destroyers, one for every man, woman and child in Zion. Morpheus urges the Council of Zion to send Neo, Trinity and he back into "the Matrix," a virtual reality created for humans by the machines, to destroy the mainframe computer generating the Matrix.

CONTENT: Light moral worldview with very light redemptive elements, including risking one’s life to help others and mention of Providence, which is spoiled by pagan, humanist elements, including nod to false religion with hint at reincarnation, the power of choice, the power of Kung Fu tactics, etc.; about 24 obscenities, including about three muffled "f" words, seven strong profanities.
