Pvt. Lynch Rescue Shows Bravery and Camaraderie The bravery, compassion and loyalty of the American fighting forces are remarkable ["On the Road to Baghdad," HUMAN EVENTS, April, 7, page 1]. These men and women deserve to be commended. It is inspiring to see the caliber of young people in the military. People like them give us hope for the future.

Applauds Trying Arnett For Treason I regard Sen. Jim Bunning's (R.-Ky.) proposal to have Peter Arnett tried for treason ["Aid and Comfort, But Not Jail Time," HUMAN EVENTS, April 7, page 3] as good news. I am proud to be a constituent of Sen. Jim Bunning. His proposal to arrest Peter Arnett for treason as soon as he touches American soil is the right thing to do. It is a great day to be a Kentuckian.

Operation Iraqi Freedom with the 101st Airborne

Reader Seeks Regime Change Senator Kerry is right—we do need a regime change ["Kerry's Regime Change," HUMAN EVENTS, April 7, page 2]. He should be the first of the Democratic regime to go. America is the land of immigrants and should be so. It should not be the land of illegals, regardless of where they come from.

—Ken Hughes, Waterford, Mich.

Halt Increases In UN Funding It is disgusting we are even a part of the idiocy known as the United Nations, ["U.S. Will Pay Increased UN Dues—Despite All," HUMAN EVENTS, April 7, page 6]. The building should be emptied of all the crooks and thugs and have them sent to wherever they used to call "home." The UN building, in order to be useful, should be used to house the homeless not those scroungers it now houses. Let the UN build a new home, without American funding or presence, wherever they deem it wise as long as it is not in the United States. Thanks for the catharsis.

—Robert E. Begley, Jr., Kailua, Hawaii

There is no way that we should have to pay for a new increase to the United Nations. If I had my way we would get out of the United Nations and move it to an Islamic nation. Koffi Annan is worthless. His role is merely PR management. He can't even handle human rights. The United Nations should be reimbursing the U.S. taxpayer for this war. I don't trust the French, Germans or the Russians about this war. We are slowly being turned into a one-nation superpower against the rest of the world. Just what the Bible forewarned about.

—Barbara Kelly, Farmington, N.M.

Maybe the United States should take the money used to pay dues and spend it directly on rebuilding Iraq. I believe a portion of the money for rebuilding would come from the United Nations anyway (most of it from the U.S.).

—Mary Wintermute, Harmony, N. J.

I received a call from the Republican Party wanting money to advertise something about getting the U.S. out of the UN. I believed the caller when he said they were really going to do something about it. I will print this article out and send it back without any money.

—Betty Manz, Maumelle, Ariz.

Upset Over Senate GOP Turncoats It really upsets me that three Republicans refused to support President Bush's tax cut ["Roll Calls," HUMAN EVENTS, April 7, page 30] and voted with Democrats to slash it. I would rather see money going back into the American taxpayers' hands rather than to illegal aliens, foreign countries, etc. If these three senators want to act like Democrats then they should stop being Republicans. I know that Sen. Voinovich (R.-Ohio) just recently voted in a raise for himself and fellow senators. They always make sure they get their money and to hell with the rest of us.

—Elizabeth A. Reisinger, Cincinnati, Ohio

Hillary Clinton As Anti-Life Crusader In pondering over the Hillary Watch item ["Hillary Supports Infanticide," HUMAN EVENTS, March 31, page 19], I had the recent opportunity to hold my sixth grandchild, born 2lbs 4oz. To watch this tiny little child struggle to survive and take hold of the life that is his, belies the blackness of Hillary's heart as she takes to the floors of the Senate to preserve the right of a woman to slaughter a life such as this. The ferocity of Hillary's attack (and those of kindred spirit) demonstrates the depth of self-will required to bury the knowledge of the truth.
