“Now we do need to talk a little bit about, ladies and gentlemen, the fact that it is Columbus Day, and we do need to look at some of these things because what was the world like that Columbus arrived to? And let me tell you something right now, it wasn’t America. It was not. America did not exist prior to Columbus.”
He said that “there’s a lot of people who get this completely wrong because whatever existed before — remember, the natives didn’t even really have a name for it, they called it Turtle Island, if they called it anything — but it wasn’t a functioning country. It wasn’t a functioning civilization.”
“There were tribal nomadic war bands that lived on the continent,” he said. When explorers such as Columbus and Cortez arrived in the Americas, Posobiec said that they found “human sacrifice, blood sacrifice. There was also blood sacrifice that was taking place on the shores of the Mississippi River that people don’t even know about.”
“They won’t tell you about this. Why? Because there's this myth of the peaceful natives, the peaceful, the Pocahontas movie and all this other stuff. Oh, they’re so peaceful, they’re so friendly, they’re so kind. They didn’t even know about warfare. You know what else they didn’t know about, by the way? Wheels.”
He noted that the Sistine Chapel was painted in 1512, 20 years after Columbus arrived in the Americas. “Columbus comes over a couple of years before then, meets a bunch of people, they don’t even have the wheel yet.
“Look, folks. We’re never going to save Western Civilization if conservative leaders can’t stand up for guys like Christopher Columbus, and that’s something I’ve always applauded President Trump for.”
“He brought the statue back when they dumped it into the Baltimore Harbor. He brought it back and fixed it up and put it up at the White House. He’s always supported Christopher Columbus, and if you look across the administration, they’re putting out a huge pitch today to support Christopher Columbus.
“And it's not just about Italian Americans, and it's not just about Catholics. No, it's about the founding of America, and you can't separate that without going back to Christopher Columbus, 1492, the Nina, the Pinta, and the Santa Maria, and understanding that America did not exist before the first American, Christopher Columbus, and in fact, it’s why DC is the District of Columbia.”
